What Are the Different Ways to Use Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy has been used for centuries to help ease different ailments by the use of smells. Of course, people have developed a variety of ways to get the benefits of scents from natural essential oils. Sometimes, it's a bit more complicated than other ways.

Many people use it on a daily, almost constant, basis without any problems, but you want to keep a check for any allergies or skin reactions.

Here are some of the most common ways of using aromatherapy:

DIFFUSERS

Diffusers are devices that can help spread the scent of the essential oils. The most common is a candle, but there are also electric heat diffusers that are small pads put inside a heating chamber with ventilation that pushes out the aromatic vapors.

There are also cool air nebulizing diffusers that vaporize the essential oils. These have condensers inside that reduces the amount of oil that is used.

INHALERS

Essential oils are dispersed on hot compresses using a few drops and then breathed in.

BATHS

Essential oils are mixed in the water with salts, oils or milk that includes the mixture of the natural oils. Combined with hot water, the oils are easy to breath in. These baths are good for stress, including respiratory and circulatory problems.

COMPRESSES

Soaking the essential oils on cloths and wraps and then placing them on the body is a way to help bruises, wounds, pains, skin issues and muscle aches.

FACIAL STEAM

The head is covered with a towel, and you breathe in the essential oil aromas through the steam.

MASSAGE

Essential oils can be massaged directly into the skin in a diluted form.

DIRECT INHALATION IN THE PALM

A few drops of essential oils are rubbed into the palms gently, and then covers the nose and breathes in.

DIFFUSED JEWELRY

The aroma is carried around the neck on something that allows the aromatherapy to be closer to the nose.

NOSE RING

A device of cellulose is placed on the septum between the nostrils, and the essential oils are breathed in for 10 to 20 minutes and then its discarded. This is how Rin'GO Aroma Rings work.

Oils evaporate into the air and are inhaled, ingested or rubbed onto the skin. Different natural essential oils work better in different ways.

Is there an Easy, Safe Way to Use Aromatherapy?

Natural essential oils are prevalent in the world today, because it's used commonly in hair shampoo products, cleaning products, lotions and other everyday items.

Some people are concerned about the safety of essential oils because they have heard about problems with hormone disturbances, but that is not the case when used in small minuscule quantities.

The easiest way to get the benefits of aromatherapy is through the nostrils, where there is nothing to charge, light up or heat. The cellulose one-time-use rings made by Rin'GO Aroma Rings are simple ways to get the benefits of smells from helpful herbs.

Is Too Much Aromatherapy Bad For You?

Some regular uses of aromatherapy have reported that prolonged inhalation with diffusers could cause possible headaches, vertigo, nausea and dizziness.

Too much aromatherapy for some people can cause skin rashes, and your skin should be checked for certain allergic reactions. Your skin could be sensitive to some essential oils.

The essential oils will not hurt your lungs and the basic aromatherapy will not enhance problems with asthma or other breathing issues.

The best idea is to proceed with caution when trying any kind of new therapy. You may feel it necessary to be overly safe by contacting your doctor before trying aromatherapy. But, in general, it should never cause a problem and can only help.
